Day 1 – Amboseli National Park

After a stopover lunch at the lodge we enjoy an afternoon game drive returning to the lodge in the evening for a sun downer and dinner. With the majestic backdrop of Mt. Kilimanjaro, spectacular displays of wildlife – lion, elephant, leopard, rhino, cheetah, buffalo and various plains’ game, you are sure to collect a gallery of amazing pictures.

    Day 2 – Amboseli

After a dawn game drive, we return to the lodge for breakfast. The rest of the morning is spent at leisure or by the swimming pool. Lunch and final game drive in the late afternoon beneath the snow capped peak of Mt. Kilimanjaro. At 329 sq km Amboseli is a small park and lacks the profusion of animal species found in the Mara, but the landscape provides limited cover so we have better chances of seeing some of the larger predators. You also have the option of visiting a Masai village or Lenkisem cultural boma. Dinner and overnight back at the lodge or tented camp.

    Day 3 – Aberdare Ranges

Early morning breakfast before checkout and departure via Nairobi to the cool Aberdares region to enjoy the experience of staying in a Tree Hotel or lodge overlooking floodlit waterholes where wildlife such as bongo, buffalo, elephants and various other herbivores visits regularly.   As dusk ensues, we enjoy a relaxing sun downer whilst viewing the game as they gradually approach the waterhole – a truly magical experience. A hearty dinner and pleasant sleep follows thereafter.

Day 4 – Samburu National Reserve

After breakfast we proceed further north across the Equator to the edge of the Northern Frontier. Arrival Samburu by lunchtime followed by an afternoon game drive in this diverse landscape of thorn scrub, red dirt, dried river beds, broken volcanic rock, steep hills, and rocky outcroppings. Return for a sun downer and dinner at the lodge/ tented camp.

Day 5 – Samburu National Reserve

Full day exploring the reserve through morning and afternoon game drives looking out for uncommon Grevy’s zebra with huge fury ears, gerenuk antelope standing on hind legs to feed, Somali ostriches with distinct blue legs and the shy Oryx as well as elephant and crocodile. Option to visit a Samburu village.

Day 6 – Nakuru National Park

Very early departure towards Lake Nakuru with packed lunches arriving in time for a brief late afternoon game drive in the park. This park covers only 180 sq km and is home to black and white rhinos, flamingos, warthogs, waterbuck, buffaloes, reedbucks, and the occasional leopard. Check in to the lodge/tented camp thereafter to enjoy sundowners and dinner.

Day 7 – Masai Mara National Reserve

Morning breakfast and game drive in Nakuru before departing with packed lunches for Masai Mara National Reserve. Arrive in time for an afternoon game drive looking for Masai giraffe, baboons, warthogs, bat eared foxes, grey jackals, spotted hyena, topis, impala, hartebeests, wildebeest. Elephants, buffaloes, zebras and hippos also exist in great numbers. It is also common to see lions either basking after a heavy meal, or surveying the plains for their next meal. Cheetahs and leopards are harder to spot but are still reasonably common.

Day 8 – Masai Mara National Reserve

The day is spent game viewing, in the early morning hours and in the evenings as this is when we have the best chances of seeing wildlife. The ultimate action here is without doubt the annual wildebeest exodus in July and August when millions of these grass eaters move into Mara from the Serengeti in search of lusher grass. Optional activities include balloon rides, visit to Masai village or school, night game drives and nature walks depending on the property you are staying at.

    Day 9 – Nairobi

After breakfast we enjoy a last morning game drive before departing back to Nairobi with packed lunches. Drop off at your hotel or airport depending on your arrangements. END OF SERVICES.
