The afternoon is spent at leisure; optional activities include walk to MauMau Caves with a guide, cycling, horse riding and boating offered at the lodge.

The Mau Mau Cave was used by Kenyan freedom fighters as a hideout from British soldiers during the Mau Mau Uprising of 1952 to 1960. This pleasant 9km walk through wild bushes and indigenous trees is located at the foothills of Mt Kenya and open out to a beautiful waterfall and Burguret River. The area is also home to baboons, Colobus monkeys and other species. Dinner and overnight back at the lodge. (Lunch & Dinner included)

Day 2Mt. Kenya to Marsabit

After breakfast we depart for Marsabit town and environs. Enjoy a scenic drive as you depart Nanyuki looking out for colorful fields approaching Isiolo, the magnificent Mount Ololokwe (Samburu sacred mountain) before arriving at Marsabit. We visit Lake Paradise and Little Lake inside Marsabit national park. Here, an indigenous forest and a desert come together to create the most compelling landscape on earth.
