Itinerary

Day 1Nairobi to the Maasai Mara

Early pick up from your Nairobi hotel stopping briefly at the escarpment to enjoy views of Mount Suswa and Longonot rising from the Rift valley floor. We arrive Maasai Mara in time for camp set up and lunch. Enjoy an afternoon game drive in the park in search of the Big five.

Pitch up tents for a night of fly camping beneath the stars. The campsite offers you a magnificent view of the sunrise dotted with hot-air balloons in the skies. Viewing the animals in their native land where they are free to roam and live as nature intended is just fascinating beyond words. The camp has stunning views and wildlife with a cool breeze that sweeps off the plains. The rugged and rolling landscape will provide many great pictures.
(Lunch & Dinner included)

Main Activities: Game Drive & Sundowners

Day 2Maasai Mara

Full day game drive with packed lunch exploring the Maasai Mara. Game drives in the Mara are rewarding all year round and you are likely to come across a pride of Lions, Cheetahs, Elephants, Zebras and Hippos. Wildebeest traverse its plains during their annual migration in between July and August. The landscape has grassy plains and rolling hills, and is crossed by the Mara and Talek rivers where Wildebeest migrate through (Breakfast, Lunch & Dinner included).

Main activities: Game Drive, Sundowners

Day 3Maasai Mara to Loita Hills

Early breakfast before we break up camp and depart towards the Loita Hills to enjoy a truly authentic cultural experience with the Maasai community. Arrive the eco camp in time for lunch.

Main activity: Afternoon spent in camp orientation, guided Nature Walk and Maasai Cultural briefing with fire making presentation “Maasai style” followed by winding down the day with campfire stories.

The name ‘Maji Moto” means “Hot Water”, and this refers to the natural hot spring near the village. Surrounded by trees, a dip in the spring in the evening is a refreshing way to soak away the day’s exertions.

Tonight; we spend the night in Igloo type tents which are furnished with mattresses, pillows, beddings and towels. All tents are secluded with a private relaxing spot and a view. Bathroom facilities are shared. (Breakfast, Lunch & Dinner included).

Optional experiences: – Night game drives

Day 4Loita Hills to Nairobi

Early morning breakfast followed by Maasai Warrior training; measuring skills in Sasol stick fighting, spear throwing and archery will be organized. Time permitting (and when school is in session) we make a visit to one of the nearby schools. The camp has established a relationship with several local schools, and often visitors decide they wish to help the school and children, sometimes by sponsoring a student, sometimes by providing the school with needed supplies… a box of pencils… a ream of paper. Small things that mean a lot.

Depart camp thereafter; driving back towards Nairobi to arrive in the late afternoon. Drop off at your hotel (Breakfast & Lunch included).
