Itinerary

Day 1Nairobi to the Maasai Mara

Early pick up from your Nairobi hotel stopping briefly at the escarpment to enjoy views of Mount Suswa and Longonot rising from the Rift valley floor. We arrive Maasai Mara in time for camp set up and lunch. Enjoy an afternoon game drive in the park in search of the Big five.

Pitch up tents for a night of fly camping beneath the stars. The campsite offers you a magnificent view of the sunrise dotted with hot-air balloons in the skies. Viewing the animals in their native land where they are free to roam and live as nature intended is just fascinating beyond words. The camp has stunning views and wildlife with a cool breeze that sweeps off the plains. The rugged and rolling landscape will provide many great pictures.
(Lunch & Dinner included)

Main Activities: Game Drive & Sundowners

Day 2Maasai Mara

Full day game drive with packed lunch exploring the Maasai Mara. Game drives in the Mara are rewarding all year round and you are likely to come across a pride of Lions, Cheetahs, Elephants, Zebras and Hippos. Wildebeest traverse its plains during their annual migration in between July and August. The landscape has grassy plains and rolling hills, and is crossed by the Mara and Talek rivers where Wildebeest migrate through (Breakfast, Lunch & Dinner included).

Main activities: Game Drive, Sundowners

Day 3Maasai Mara to Loita Hills

Early breakfast before breaking up camp driving through the park viewing game towards the Loita hills to enjoy a truly authentic cultural experience with the Maasai. Arrive the ecocamp in time for lunch.

Main activity: Afternoon spent in camp orientation, guided Nature Walk and Maasai Cultural briefing with fire making presentation “Maasai style” followed by winding down the day with camp fire stories.

Tonight; we spend the night in Igloo type tents which are furnished with mattresses, pillows, beddings and towels. All tents are secluded with private relaxing spot and a view. Bathroom facilities are shared. (Breakfast, Lunch & Dinner included).

Optional Experiences: Night Game Drives

Day 4Loita Hills to Nairobi

Early morning breakfast followed by an early morning walking safari with Maasai warriors through the hills, observing plants and animals through Maasai eyes. You will be taught the knowledge of the Maasai culture, the natural world, its plants, animals and their uses. Alternatively; you may visit the hot springs for an early morning dip. The name ‘Maji Moto” means “Hot Water”, and this refers to the natural hot spring near the village. Surrounded by trees, a dip in the spring in the evening is a refreshing way to soak away the day’s exertions.

For the more active; go cycling. The camp is equipped with many Mountain Bikes (helmets too) for short trips away from camp. The camp staff includes several expert cyclists who will lead you on these journeys, and who can take care of any mechanical issues that may arise. Depart camp after lunch; driving back towards Nairobi to arrive in the late afternoon. (Breakfast & Lunch included).
