Tour Details

On this tour you will travel northwards looking out for the majestic Mount Kenya before we arrive at the conservation success story which is Ol Pejeta Conservancy where a host of experiences await. These include a visit to the only chimpanzee sanctuary in Kenya as well visits to the last two white rhinos. Our journey continues to the Rift valley lakes of Nakuru and Naivasha which are home to diverse birdlife before settling in at Masai Mara game reserve for wildlife viewing.

Itinerary

Day 1Nairobi to Ol Pejeta

Early morning pick up as we travel drive north of Nairobi to Ol Pejeta to see the wildlife including chimpanzees. Enjoy a game drive and a visit to the rhino and Chimpanzee sanctuaries.
The Ol Pejeta Conservancy holds some of the highest predator densities in Kenya. The lions are the most numerous of the big cats, with six resident prides bringing the total lion population to 72. The Conservancy is also home to around 30 cheetahs, and 20 elusive leopards. Spotted hyena (population around 100), black-backed jackal, caracal and the bat-eared fox can also be found here as well as numerous herbivores. (Lunch & Dinner included)

Day 2Ol Pejeta

Enjoy a morning game drive followed by a host of optional activities offered by Ol Pejeta which you can book directly such as: –
Cycling safari, Bird and nature walks, Night game drive, Lion tracking etc.

Day 3Ol Pejeta to Nakuru

Early breakfast before check out and departure towards Lake Nakuru. Along the way; there is the option to make a stop at Nyahururu Falls (Thompson falls). This is a 72m plunge waterfall on the Ewaso Narok River near the equator in Kenya’s Aberdare Range which was discovered in 1883 by Joseph Thomson, a Scottish geologist and naturalist. We arrive at Lake Nakuru and enjoy an afternoon game drive en route to your accommodation.

Nakuru national park covers 180 sq km and is home to warthogs, waterbuck, buffaloes, reedbucks, and the occasional leopard. White and black rhinos were introduced to the park some years ago and the park has also retained its reputation as a bird watchers’ delight with more than 400 species of bird found here. Day 4Lake Nakuru to Naivasha

Morning Game drive in Lake Nakuru enjoying the scenery, following Pelicans and Flamingos along the lake shore.
Thereafter we depart towards nearby Lake Naivasha and make a visit to Hell’s Gate National Park where various optional activities await you: –
– hire bikes to cycle among Giraffes, Zebras, Buffalos and other animals…
– Weather permitting you can also descend the gorge that served as filming location for Tomb Raider – The Cradle of Life (9kms walk) with a local guide. Please note the gorge is prone to flash flooding and thus not to be attempted if weather is not right!
– For the more adventurous; attempt a rock climb up Fischer’s Tower. This is a volcanic plug near the northeastern border of Hell’s Gate National Park, with a height of approximately 25 meters which can be attempted by the least experienced climber!
Thereafter transfer to the lodge for Dinner and overnight. (Breakfast, Lunch & Dinner included)

Day 5Naivasha to Maasai Mara

Early breakfast followed by a scenic 1-hour boat ride on the lake in search of Hippos and Pelicans. Thereafter check out and depart towards Maasai Mara making a brief stop at Narok town to stretch your legs and buy some souvenirs. We arrive at Maasai Mara in the late afternoon (Breakfast, Lunch & Dinner included)

Day 6 & 7Maasai Mara

The following 2 days will be spent enjoying the accommodation facilities, game viewing and absorbing the amazing sceneries.
Maasai Mara Game Drives are rewarding all year round. It is common to see Lions either basking after a heavy meal, or surveying the plains for their next meal as well as Cheetahs and Leopards which are harder to spot.

There are various optional activities offered outside of Game Drives. For example; balloon trips are an entirely outstanding way of seeing the savannah plains and the wildlife after which you come back down for a beautiful champagne breakfast. Horse Riding is also an option in vast open spaces dotted with lonely Umbrella Acacias, masses of Wildebeest, dazzles of Zebras and other wildlife. Nature walks and birdwatching are also offered in some properties. You may also visit a local Maasai village or school just outside the reserve.

Day 8Maasai Mara to Diani

We enjoy a morning game drive before breakfast back at the lodge. We spend the rest of the morning relaxing before the transfer to the airstrip in order to catch the scheduled flight to Diani Beach. Pick up and transfer to Diani beach to enjoy the Silky white sands and warm turquoise waters. (Breakfast, Lunch, Dinner included)

Day 9 to 11Diani

Days spent enjoying the pool, beach and hotel facilities.
There are numerous in-house activities to keep the family busy such as:-
– Kids club with daily activities to keep them engaged for example playing ping pong or walking along the beach to collect shelves for beading etc.
– Water activities such as jet ski, snorkeling and kitesurfing
Excursions within Diani include:-
– Visit to the colobus conservation trust which promotes the conservation, preservation and protection of primates like the nationally threatened Angolan colobus monkey
– Enjoy a full day trip to Kisite Marine Park for boat sailing, dolphin spotting, snorkeling, swimming and a mouth-watering Swahili seafood lunch on Wasini Island.

Day 12Diani to Nairobi

Enjoy a final breakfast before check out and departure towards the airport. Catch your scheduled flight back to Nairobi in good time to connect to your flight back home. End of services. Breakfast included.
